Valentine’s Day - San Francisco City Hall
Valentine’s Day at City Hall is a site to witness. Love is in the air. Couples, surrounded by families and friends, are excited to tie the knot on this romantic day. At least 83 people were married this Valentine’s Day. Instead of the usual 5 Wedding Commissioners, there were 20 Commissioners! People come to San Francisco from all over the world to get married in the magnificent rotunda at City Hall. San Francisco proudly puts out her welcome mat for anyone who wants to get married. In this beautiful city by the bay, we strive for inclusiveness. The diversity in the rotunda is notable and prominent. The day included a visit from San Francisco’s Mayor, London Breed. Her warmth and congeniality added to the festive atmosphere.
I have been taking candid pictures at City Hall for over two years. You can see some of those images on my website in this portfolio “Unofficial Album.” My upcoming book documents these quirky, loving and often unexpected moments - another way to honor San Francisco.
